Flying Cloud as it sat when we picked it up. There were a bunch of loose pieces in the barn behind

Great day for a road trip. About a 3 hr tow to the shop

Back at the studio. Small crease in front is only signifigant mark on trailer. Someone put an Airstream decal over it. Maybe it was a bandage

The interior needed a much larger bandaid [view from rear]

All the appliances are in great  conditon. It's the floor that's rotten in two areas. Cabinets also are alright. The front dinette and rear sleeping area are both missing.

Main frame members are alright, but many of the crossmembers need replacement.  [front]

heater and an almost full-sized fridge

Inside is in great condition. Unknown if the appliance functions

As trashed out as it looks, the toilet is in great condtion, although I was afraid to lift the lid and meet a possum

All the original lights are present and look new

First and only year for this dome light

wanted to see how much effort it took to polish before it came into the studio

1958 Flying Cloud [22']

This classic Flying Cloud arrived 11/3  This particular unit was made in the CA plant.  Length to end of tongue 22'. Interior has 19' of usable space. Width: 7'  It has tapered wheel-wells and recessed Bargman #9 brake lights. The floor and frame of the trailer is a mess in the front 5' and about 2' in the rear. About the same amount of repairs that the '56 Caravanner required. The Flying Cloud will have the interior removed and then the floor removed exposing the frame for removal and replacement of rusted crossmembers and outriggers. Aside from the poor condition of the floor there are three pairs of wonderful '50s sconces + some singles, nice turquoise stove, fridge and porcelain toilet . Cabinets are fairly good with no water damage, Original zolotone is about 60% covered with white latex. The exterior is dent -free and in very good shape for it's age. Good pan and bumper is perfect. I did notice that a couple of roof panels have been replaced and pop rivets were used in the place of domed rivets. The roof vents are intact  and working but the skylight has had some kind of modification. Not sure yet what the heck was changed. I really like this trailer inspite of the amount of work that it will require. Has a good floor plan. It's a cheery trailer and I'm anxious to begin. This will be a really nice trailer.
